How to Weave Paper
You will need:
- about five paperclips
- two pieces of coloured paper (different colours)
- a pair of scissors
- Fold a piece of paper in half and clip the unfolded side of the paper with the paperclips.
- At the folded edge, cut at least 2 cm wide and 2cm away from the unfolded edge.
- Open the paper.
- Cut strips of the other piece of paper about 2cm wide (the strips should be longer than the other piece of paper).
- Weave the strips over and under the slits in the other piece of paper.
- Cut off the extra pieces of paper and tape the ends of paper.
- You're done!
We have been learning how to write instructions in the Senior Room. This ties in with our work in Science on Energy - writing about experiments etc. In writing we have been looking at how to write a set of instructions - how to set them out, what language they use and so on. In reading we have been reading instructions and trying to follow them. Kahlil's writing is based on a reading activity...

WEE-HOO TERM TWO!!
Welcome back to Term two everyone. We have had a bit of a change in the Senior room - our class timetable has changed, our read-aloud has changed, but the best change has been being able to welcome our four new friends to the group! Welcome Brook, Sam D, Wil and B'Kay - we are very proud to have you join our class!
Mini-ball training has started hard-out and we thank Helen R and Aroha who are our fabulous coaches. Ben has fixed the hoops, Helen has ordered new balls and we are ready to slam dunk our way to the top of the table!
Our topic study for the term is ENERGY and Mrs W and Helen have planned all sorts of cool experiments and learning. We are hoping to squeeze in a school trip to the Dunedin Gasworks museum to look at this topic in more depth.
